Often when trying on a brand new pair of UGG boots, one of the first questions asked is... Do UGG boots stretch?
In one word – YES! All A-grade merino sheepskin stretches, so if your UGG boots are constructed from sheepskin (which most Shearers UGG boots are ), you can ensure your boots to stretch. This is why you should make sure your UGG boots are tight, snug and cosy fit when you first try them on, as they will give about half a size over time.
When choosing your size at Shearers UGG, you don't need to choose a smaller sizes, but purchase your ordinary shoe size, and certainly avoid “sizing up” like many fake sheepskin boot manufacturers may recommend. If you buy a larger ugg size than normal, and take into consideration that the boot will stretch, you’ll be left with an UGG boot which are are to large, won't be as tight, resulting in no longer a warm, cosy fit for you.
What if you’re ordinarily a half size? At Shearers UGG, some of our consumers are surprised to learn that UGG boots are not made in half sizes. Again, this is because the give of sheepskin is to stretch approximately half a size as the wool comfortably moulds around your foot. If you’re a foot measures slightly bigger than a Size 6, you’d be best to purchase a Size 6 UGG, as it will stretch within a few wears. Sometimes, we do have customers who wear an 6.5 for example or somewhere between a Size 6.5 and a Size 7, then Size 7 would be the better choice for you.
