ACTIVE UGG BOOTS TO SAVE THE DAY!

in Dec 8, 2021

What we love.. The warmth & coziness of UGG boots.

What we don’t love… Getting our UGG boots destroyed too soon.

Over the years we’ve all fallen in love with UGG boots from the moment we slip them on. We often tend not to even what to take them off. So much so, that we’re brave enough to where them all the time including outside only to be disappointed by getting them weathered by external conditions or finding their soles are as supportive as other forms of footwear.

Originally UGG boots were made with EVA foam soles, which is ideal for indoor use, but weren’t designed to be worn all day. What people have found out is that excessive use of UGG boots would lead multiple issues… When worn regularly old school UGGs can be harmful to your feet and ankles, causing pain and throwing your walk/gait out of line.  This can end up causing problems to extend to the knees, hips and lower back. The boots are so cosy and comfy looking that wearers rarely take them off, but they weren’t actually made for long-distance walking or all day wear.

A young mother found this out the hard way!

The easy to slip on and off Classic UGG seemed like the perfect fit for this young 27 year old mother.  She found that the UGGs kept her toes warm and toasty to boot when standing outside the school every day waiting to pick up her kids. She said that they felt like slippers walking around on the pavement (who wears slippers all day??).

After wearing these ‘trendy’ footwear all day for about a month, the young mother noticed that the arches of her feet and her heels were killing her.  She had to stop wearing them. When she sought the help of a Podiatrist (a foot doctor) she was surprised to hear that she had developed posterior tibeal tendinitis because she already had flat feet & her UGGs weren’t helping her cause.

Why did she experience this issue?

When flat footed people walk around in loose-fitting boots like these, their ankles roll inward (see the pic.) and their arches and tendons collapse outward with every step.

Hence, why over the years we’ve worked hard to produce an UGG Boot that will support you with all your daily actives.

The result…

ActivUgg is the result of modern engineering and Australian manufacturing.

Finally, a lightweight, flexible UGG boot utilizing injection Phylon (“IP”) sports shoe sole technology.  IP’s microcellular structure provides a lightweight and flexible sole with excellent cushioning characteristics and low specific gravity, typically less than 0.5kg/m³.

Considering its’ low specific gravity “IP” is remarkably durable with good abrasion and cut-tear resistance.  It also has excellent flex cracking resistance, even down to very cold temperatures (-30°C).

The ActivUgg range is Australian Made from “A” Grade merino-cross double face sheepskins. It is available in Classic and Mini styles across 3 colours (Chestnut, Sand and Black).  Both styles have reinforced heel stiffener and leather mudguard for enhanced toe support.  The “IP” sole is side stitched (lockstitch) for added security.

The OrthoTec insole/footbed is constructed from breathable open cell PU foam with sheepskin top cover. PU foam offers superior cushioning, breathability and arch support.
